1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites store on the user's device while browsing. They allow the site to function correctly, to remember user preferences between visits and — in some cases — to collect statistical or advertising information.
The regulations (Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code, transposing the ePrivacy directive, and EU Regulation 2016/679 "GDPR") distinguish cookies into two main categories: technical, necessary for the operation of the site or for a service explicitly requested by the user; and profiling, which track the user for advertising or marketing purposes. Only the latter require prior consent via banner.
